Students may ask you about submission receipts for tests and assignments in Blackboard. Only assignment submissions trigger a submission receipt; there is no submission receipt mechanism for quizzes/tests in Blackboard.
At the end of a quiz/test in Blackboard, students should receive a "Test Submitted" message in the browser window like the one below. If they’ve received a message like this when they submitted the test/quiz, it indicates the quiz was successfully submitted.
Successful Assignment Submission
When students have successfully submitted an assignment in Blackboard, they should see a successful submission message at the top of the browser window (See In-browser Successful Submission Message screenshot) and should receive an email stating that their submission was received (See Email Submission Receipt screenshot).
As the instructor, you should also be able to view student assignment submission receipts. To access your students’ assignment submission receipts, please follow these steps:
- Log into Blackboard, then navigate to Grade Center > Full Grade Center.
- At the top of the Grade Center, Click Reports, then Submission Receipts.
- Once on that page, you can view all students’ submission receipts by leaving the first drop-down menu on Username and setting the second drop-down menu to “Not Blank” then clicking Go. Note: you can sort the list of submissions by Student, Coursework, or Date by clicking any one of those column headings.
- If you want to view just one student’s submissions, you can search for the student on the Submission Receipts page by the student’s Username, First Name, Last Name, or Email.
If you have any questions about Submission Receipts or how to interpret them, please contact the Support Center at either 281-283-2828 or supportcenter@uhcl.edu and a ticket will be created and routed to the appropriate team member.
