This week, we focus on a potential resource for anyone struggling to provide meaningful feedback to student discussion submissions and interactions. As stated on ACUE's web site, "In this video, Willette Lamar, an ACUE-credentialed sociology professor at the University of Southern Alabama, shares how she is implementing an ACUE-recommended strategy for facilitating effective online discussions." On her LinkedIn page, Prof. Lamar introduces the video with the following message:
I learned of the importance of summary remarks to a discussion forum, during last spring's ACUE (Association of College and University Educators) course on active learning, hosted by University of South Alabama Innovation in Learning Center. This time I recorded my summary remarks.
The discussion was on Microaggressions.
